Monterey Hospital Fined for Medication Error

Anesthesia malpractice and other medication errors can often turn deadly. This is what happened to one of the patients at the Community Hospital of Monterey Peninsula. In 2013, the California Department of Health fined CHOMP $50,000 for a medication error during surgery.

Medication was administered incorrectly to a patient without the order of a physician. The state found that the error contributed to serious complications from which the patient was unable to recover. The patient died 11 days after surgery.

Hospital lawsuits against CHOMP and other Central and Northern California hospitals can be challenging and difficult to win. Extensive investigations must be conducted to connect all the dots and prove negligence on the part of the hospital and/or its doctors. If you or someone close to you has been injured in California hospital, it is important to act promptly while there is time to preserve the evidence. Client Reviews
My experience with Attorney Brad Corsiglia during my recent medical malpractice case was nothing short of amazing given the very stressful circumstances. I was fortunate to find Brad highly recommended from a mutual contact and from the very beginning of the process, Brad was truly engaged and knowledgeable in understanding my case and providing input on what avenues were available to me.
